It's worked for me! =) Of course, I haven't been using my own dance pads at home since I started going to ULX. It's just not the same anymore.

Mine was duct taped to no end. The sensors just stopped working though, so I just started duct taping the soft, thin pads to them, that was a good method.
Hmm that's a good idea.. I'll have to try that whenever mine finally dies.

Guest? Usually it asks me to log in, apparently not, ha well that was my post.
I really don't believe this counts as double-posting, technically.

Often it can be fixed. If the lining on the inside starts to rip, you can duct tape it and add a lot more life to the pad. I've had mine for over a year now.

I dislike them both. CF's have the issue of not being able to feel where your feet are in relation to the arrows. Every time I play on them, I end up dancing my way off the pad, literally.
The Afterburners seemed promising when they announced that the arrows would be indented into the pad, but they went too far with the indentation. They went like a full centimetre, rather than doing just enough to be able to feel it. The centimtre indentation is rather disorienting.
The best pad I've played on, other than the arcade cabinet ITG pads, is actually a soft dance pad: Red Octane Ignition 2.0/3.0. They have inch-thick foam, creating a comfortable playing surface when wearing socks whether you're playing on carpet or hard floors, it doesn't crumple up or wrinkle like other soft pads because of the inch-thick foam, it contains plastic inserts beneath each arrow so you can feel where your feet are in relation to the arrows, it's very responsive, and unlike the CF and Afterburner, the 3.0 is about $100 and the 2.0 is probably cheaper now. (Only difference between the two are graphics and the 3.0 has a USB port)
I bought a Red Octane Ignition pad, it lasted me about 3 months tops. Granted it worked very well! The sensors are enlarged and it is comfortable to play on... and doesn't scrape your foot if you slip off It just wore out pretty fast.
